Tell Me What You See #ThursdayThoughts

Hey everyone. I thought I’d do something a little different for this week’s Thursday Thoughts. I plan to keep the majority of October’s posts related to the mysterious and unknown. But while looking through some photographs for tomorrow’s post, I came across this one:

The only thing the photo has in common with this month’s theme is that I took it in October. Nothing particularly mysterious or spooky. Or is there?

It occurred to me that with a little imagination, all sorts of stories could come from this photo. So, I thought I’d give readers a shot. What pops into your head when you see this? Doesn’t have to be paranormal or involve ghosts. It could be something pleasant and relaxing.

Tell me what you see. Let your imagination soar and share in the comments.

Of course, I have to leave you with a video.

  1. I’m going to be the different one here; I feel the promise in a farmer’s chest. Tomorrow the last of the crops come off and the weather is holding its breath before unleashing winter’s fury. He’s tired, so tired, but after tomorrow he can rest.

  2. The horrific moonless night with snarling creatures circling became one long unending breath of terror. I didn’t think I’d live to see another sunrise. But, there it comes and if I can find my way back to the road, this nightmare will end.
Well, anyway, that’s what popped into my head. 🙂 Thanks, Joan!

  3. Is that a small house, tucked on the left side? I can’t tell. My mind sees it as an abandoned cottage in a remote setting. A traveler breaks down on the road, no cell service and no where to go but into that cottage with night fast approaching. Of course, that is when the previous owner–dead these last fifty years–awakens to claim what is rightfully his.

Either that, or it would be a nice place for a writer’s retreat 😉

      1. I have no idea why, but bats came to mind when I saw the picture. That they would soon be flying through the sky. Great song, too.

  4. The tufts of grass, the ones that turn black in the shadow while the others are still green, are they really grass? No, they are platter-sized tarantellas waiting for nightfall so they can unfurl their bristly legs. And hunt.

    1. Yikes! I wouldn’t want to hang around to see that. (I’m terrified of anything with eight legs.) Thanks for commenting. I love to see how different people see different things.
