Quiet Week, Cats, and The Week in Review

No new exciting photos, so I’ll share this one taken a few years ago. The clouds were a bit differnt than what I usually see around here.

It’s been a quiet week for the most part. The dust isn’t as noticible, the triple digit temps have somewhat subsided, and I’m looking forward to a four-day weekend.

It appears a third cat has found himself a home with us. I began seeing a black cat hanging around. Acted like he was at home. We haven’t enouraged (or discouraged) him and he’s obviously well fed. We figured he might be a neighborhood cat.

Then he stared sleeping on our deck and this past week has taken to the front porch. He won’t let us get too close but won’t run away either. Of course, my indoor cats are curious and are constantly looking out the windows. If new cat hangs around, I’ll call him Midnight.

And now, here is this week’s writing links:

    1. He’s the second black cat that’s shown up at our house. We have a black Manx that came about three years ago. In both cases, we weren’t looking for a cat but they found us!

  1. You had me at “cat.”
And a black one yet! I love the name 🙂
My sister has two strays who have adopted her. One is feral and the other is a stray that was someone’s pet. She feeds the both, but the feral only lets her get within a few feet. The stray she can pet. She’s thinking of bringing that one inside.
I’d love to see a picture of Midnight when you get one. Happy weekend, Joan!

    1. I knew you’d love the cat post. Not sure about this one. He acts like he wants to come close but won’t let us touch him. Friendly, however. Has made himself at home on our front porch. He’s a Tom and I think he must have been in a fight recently. Not sure if he can see out of one eye but can’t get close enough to check it out.

    1. I agree, Craig! I’ve included both my cats (guess I should now say my indoor cats) in stories. Little Bit was in Macabre Sanctuary and Tucker in Unsee Motives. (Different names, of course.)

  2. Ah… Midnight! You’re such a soft touch. You’re going to end up with all the cats in the neighborhood. Looking forward to pics of the new guy once you get him in the house.

    Great links, Joan. Happy weekend!

    1. I know. I can’t resist animals. And John is just as bad. Not sure about this one coming in. When we had Cruz, three cats in the house didn’t work too good. And this one is a Tom so I’m sure he’ll like to roam. Hope he’s a good mouser! But I’ll have some pics soon – inside or out.

  3. I love the name of the new cat. Still exhausting humidity and heat here. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for the links 😊
